McAninch Student Athlete of the Week – Maddie Trow, Urbandale

As the spring sports season winds to a close, players from across the state are working to make the 2016 state tournament. One of those players is our McAninch Student Athlete of the Week, Maddie Trow of Urbandale.

Maddie, the daughter of Jennifer and Kirk Trow will earn her 4th varsity letter in tennis this season. She is the #2 singles player on the Urbandale tennis squad and the #1 Doubles player. She is part of a team that has won 51 consecutive regular season matches.

Off the court, Maddie is a Fellowship of Christian Athletes School Leader for the past two years and has been involved in the organization for the past four year. She also volunteers for Read to Lead, which is a nonprofit organization that helps students in urban area. She also works at Wakonda Country Club as a tennis instructor to youth.

With graduation right around the corner, Maddie is getting ready to attend Grand View University this fall where she will play tennis and plays to study either health promotion or multimedia communication.
